Sinusitis is treated with medications and home treatment measures, such as applying moist heat to your face. The goals of treatment for sinusitis are to:

Improve drainage of mucus and reduce swelling in the sinuses.
Relieve pain and pressure.
Clear up any infection.
Prevent the formation of scar tissue, and avoid permanent damage to the tissues lining the nose and sinuses.
Medications may be used to treat sinusitis, especially when it is caused by a bacterial infection. There are varying lengths of treatment with medications—treatment may be as short as three days or last as long as several weeks or more. Medications most often used to treat sinusitis include a combination of:

Antibiotics, such as amoxicillin, which kill bacteria.
Decongestants, such as pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, which reduce the swelling of the mucous membranes in the nose.
Analgesics, such as aspirin, acetaminophen, or ibuprofen, to relieve pain.
Corticosteroids, such as beclomethasone dipropionate or prednisone, which reduce inflammation in the nasal passages. These medications may also be used as an inhaled nasal spray.
Mucolytics, such as guaifenesin, which thin the mucus.
With chronic sinusitis, there is no cure, you’re never really free from symptoms and always have a low level of sinusitis symptoms. The best recommendation is an allergy medication such as allegra. Keep humidifiers in you home and air fileres to help redue the risk or recurrences.

A good Chiropractor. One that doesn’t snap your neck or crack your spine. I stopped having back pain, sinus infections and heartburn since going to my gentle chiropractor. I was a skeptic…but now I believe! Don’t know how it works, just know it works.

Aromatherapy. Please choose 100% natural oils. Use the old towel over your head, head over sink basin, filled with steaming hot water, containing no more than 4 drops of each oil. Use 1 or several in a blend:lavender, peppermint, tea tree, lemon (only 1 drop), eucalyptus, orange, rose. The best is lavender. You can purchase a couple of oils and they’ll last you a long time. . .maybe a year. Peppermint, I think is second best. Good luck!P.S. please try and cut out dairy products-they produce mucous.

I suffered from chronic sinus infections for a decade. I finally got well by not going to a regular doctor. Here’s what I did:

I began a cleansing system of my colon, taking fiber and drinking lots of water. Every six months, I did this for about 2 weeks, cleansing and cleaning out.

I used a combination of pure essential oils. I use a company whose oil quality exceeds internation standards. They are not available in stores. One of the oils was specifically for respiratory congestion, called RC. Also used Rosemary, Peppermint, and Myrtle. They were the best for me.

I used other essential oils to create a natural anti-biotic. They were Oregano, Basil, Frankincense, Lemon, Mountain Savory – not all at once, some mixed, some by themselves. I rotated them.

I did inhalation therapy – inhaling oils from a diffuser.

I used a blend of oils called Purification on the filter of my heater/air conditioner to clear out germs and other things in the air.

I used another blend called Thieves (has an interesting story) to stop sore throats and infections starting.

Originally, I would get a sinus infection every 6 weeks. They would last a week, sometimes longer, and be severe. As I did these things over a period of 2 years, the sinus infections got further and further apart, they lessened in severity, and got shorter and shorter in duration. The last sinus infection I had was in 1999 or 2000. I haven’t had one since.
